Legacy giving plays a critical role in the development of Sinai Health Foundation and its support of the community it serves. There are many different ways that you can make a legacy gift, including gifts of publicly traded securities.

Gifts of Publicly Traded Securities to
Sinai Health Foundation

When a donation of appreciated publicly traded securities, such as stocks, bonds or mutual funds, or stock options is made to a charitable organization, the capital gains tax on the securities is eliminated when the securities are transferred directly to the organization, including the Sinai Health Foundation. You will also receive a donation receipt based on the full fair market value of the shares for the close of market on the day the securities are received by the Foundation. By donating and directly transferring your publicly traded securities, the capital gains tax is eliminated that would otherwise be payable if you were to sell the appreciated securities, first, and then donate the proceeds from the sale to Sinai Health Foundation. This tax break can significantly reduce the cost of your donation and allow you to give more than you would otherwise imagine possible.

If you are ready to make the transaction, please complete the Gift of Publicly Traded Securities form. The completed form should be sent to Sinai Health Foundation by your broker to:

Richardson GMP Limited
Contact: DALE MCCUTCHEON
Phone: 416-941-6746
Fax: 416-864-9888
Email: DALE.MCCUTCHEON@RICHARDSONGMP.COM

Sharing the completed Gift of Publicly Traded Securities form with both Sinai Health Foundation and Richardson GMP Ltd., prior to transferring the securities to our account, will ensure prompt and accurate receipting of your donation.
