Our most intense, life-changing and dramatic moments unfold within the walls of a hospital. There, we become most aware of our collective responsibility.
That sense of responsibility drove four incredible women to go door-to-door in their Jewish community in the 1920s, raising money to open what became Mount Sinai Hospital. Today, it is known as Sinai Health System, one of Canada’s leading integrated health systems comprised of Bridgepoint Active Healthcare, Circle of Care, Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute (LTRI) and Mount Sinai Hospital. From healthy beginnings to healthy aging, Sinai Health System provides connected care to those who need it most.
You can extend those values of community and connection into the future. With a gift in your Will to Sinai Health System, you can support community-focused health care that attends to the whole person. Your legacy can play a vital role in securing a future of groundbreaking discoveries and compassionate care for generations to come.
Mount Sinai Hospital was founded on a belief that a community thrives when everyone is treated with dignity. Our culture of belonging is what continues to set Sinai Health System apart, even today.
When we think about what makes a great hospital, doctors who bring each other cups of coffee and porters who chat with waiting patients may seem trivial. But in fact, they are examples of the close-knit culture and extraordinary care on which we pride ourselves.
A gift in your Will to Sinai Health System is an extension of those values. Your gift will support a community-focused hospital that cares for the whole person, at every stage of life.
A legally valid Will ensures your estate is distributed according to your exact wishes, including charitable gifts. When leaving a gift in your Will, there are several options to choose from.
One of the easiest ways to make a legacy gift to Sinai Health Foundation is through a residual gift or by leaving a percentage of your estate. A residual gift is the remainder of your estate, after your family and any other provisions have been taken care of. This is similar to leaving a percentage, where the bequest amount may vary depending on the size of your estate.
Alternatively, you may prefer to make a specific gift to Sinai Health Foundation. This is a convenient way to ensure that your favourite charity receives a specific dollar amount of your choosing, regardless of the size of your estate.
Sinai Health Foundation also accepts funds from registered retirement savings plans (RRSPs and RRIFs), tax-free savings accounts (TFSAs) as well as gifts of life insurance. These gifts are best arranged by contacting your financial institution or insurance broker.
Designating Your Gift
