Bridgepoint Active Healthcare is a unique hospital in the city. It is purpose-built to deliver exceptional care for an aging population in need of multiple healthcare services and is Toronto’s most highly recommended and sought out rehabilitation hospital.

This fall, two fundraisers brought members of the business, fashion and philanthropic community together to support Bridgepoint. The annual Fandango! gala in October and this year’s theme was Big Band. Guests were transported back to the roaring twenties as they entered the King Edward Hotel and were treated to 20’s inspired menu, a silent auction and music by the Toronto All-Star Big Band.

On November 1, over 400 guests celebrated the eighth anniversary of The Great Jewellery Heist at the Ritz-Carlton hotel. This sold-out fundraiser welcomed a diverse and influential group of men and women from Bay Street and Toronto’s fashion circles for a glamorous luncheon and jewellery auction.

Over the years, Fandango! and Heist have together raised more than $8 million to fund vital infrastructure and equipment, innovative programming and life-saving research at Bridgepoint.

These critical funds help patients like Frances Price, who arrived at Bridgepoint after surgery for a benign brain tumour with the right side of her body paralyzed. She underwent physical therapy and rehabilitation for three months to regain her strength and mobility. When Frances was discharged, she was able to walk out of the hospital.

“Bridgepoint is absolutely stunning right from the rooftop garden to the beautiful patient rooms. It’s very peaceful and you have time for your recovery,” says Frances. “The staff are great and were always helpful and encouraging.”
