Serving for Sinai is an all-day, co-ed volleyball tournament that supports groundbreaking research at Sinai Health System’s Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute (LTRI). The event, now in its second year, took place on Sunday, March 25 at Beach Blast. Over 300 young professionals competed in the tournament, which featured both recreational and competitive divisions. This year’s finals pitted Google against Dodds/Homewise, with Google clinching their first victory in the competitive division. JLL came out on top in the recreational division. Researchers from the LTRI volunteered their time to referee several matches and Dr. Jim Woodgett, Louis de Melo, Dr. Gary Newton and David Cynamon came out to support this important fundraiser.

Serving for Sinai is led by co-chairs Jesse Abrams, Zack Belzberg, Carly Bardikoff, Demi Sacks and a passionate and dedicated committee. They have an ambitious fundraising goal of $1 million for the LTRI over five years.

"Our team came together to support Sinai Health because we feel it’s important for the next generation to bring awareness and support for life-saving research performed by the LTRI in areas such as cancer, Alzheimer's disease and many other critical illnesses," says Jesse Abrams.
Thanks to the generosity of sponsors and incredible fundraising from participants, Serving for Sinai has raised over $400,000 for the LTRI in just two years.
