We are saddened and shocked by the deaths of Barry and Honey Sherman. As our community mourns, we will remember their tremendous generosity and the impact they have had on patients and families. Both Barry and Honey were long–time supporters and leaders within the Sinai Health community. Their unwavering philanthropic leadership and heartfelt commitment to making a difference in people’s lives will be remembered.
Their genuine passion for medical research led them to support the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute including the Sherman Family Research Chair in Genomic Medicine, and champion our research mandate to their friends and community. They also gave a visionary gift to name The Sherman Health and Wellness Centre serving as an extension of Mount Sinai Hospital in the York Region community.
Over the years, Barry and Honey served both on the hospital and foundation Board of Directors, offering strategic insight, volunteering their time to help shape the care that we deliver at Sinai Health System. Their contribution will continue to impact patients and families. We offer our deepest condolences to their loved ones.
