On June 21 and June 25, members of the Sinai Health community came together at the Sinai Soiree and the 24th Annual Mount Sinai Golf Classic Tournament. Thanks to the incredible support of donors, attendees and sponsors, the events raised critical funds to support Sinai Health System.

The Sinai Soiree

On June 21, young philanthropists dressed in their summer best to celebrate the start of summer at the Globe and Mail Centre for the Sinai Soiree, hosted by Future Sinai. Thanks to the support of sponsors and attendees, $20,000 (net) was raised in support of the redevelopment of the Schwartz/Reisman Emergency Centre at Mount Sinai Hospital, part of Sinai Health System.

The Schwartz/Reisman Emergency Centre sees 60,000 patients each year twice as many as the space was designed to accommodate. To create leading-edge facilities that meet this unprecedented demand and respond to the complex needs of patients, the hospital is completely rethinking and rebuilding the Schwartz/Reisman Emergency Centre and will nearly double in size. The new Centre will also house a Behavioural Unit to help provide immediate and appropriate care in a private space for patients with addiction issues and mental health challenges.

The event featured hot beats, gourmet eats and cool summer sippers. There was an open bar, delicious food, and candy and ice cream for party-goers to satisfy their sweet tooth. There was never a dull moment with a live DJ, balloon pop, photo booth, and life-size games. The Globe and Mail Centre’s beautiful patio overlooks downtown Toronto and was the perfect place to be to snap some Soiree selfies.

The Sinai Soiree was hosted by Future Sinai, the young leaders division of Sinai Health Foundation. Future Sinai is a passionate group of young professionals in their 20s and 30s who are raising critical funds for Sinai Health.

The 24th Annual Mount Sinai Classic Golf Tournament

On June 25, 144 ardent golfers came together at St. George’s Golf and Country Club for the 24th Annual Mount Sinai Classic Golf Tournament, presented by The Equitable Bank and Chestnut Park & Echelon Wealth Partners. Thanks to the generous support from donors, sponsors, and attendees, the event raised $555,000 (net) in support of groundbreaking research at the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute (LTRI), part of Sinai Health System.

The event day featured a beautiful sunny day of golf, with interactive activities and food at each hole, a silent and live auction, cocktail reception and dinner. The event was led by a passionate committee of Sinai supporters, with co-chairs Stephen Miller and Brian Cohen.

Over its remarkable longstanding history, the Classic has raised over $8.1 million for Sinai Health System. The funds raised help to provide the very best care for patients, fuels research that pushes the boundaries of medical science and ensures that Sinai remains a world-class academic health sciences centre.
