About the LTRI

For 30 years, the Sinai Health System’s Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute (LTRI) has led by example, demonstrating that the integration of research into the clinical setting has boundless potential to advance our understanding of the diseases of our time.

The LTRI comprises 34 highly collaborative labs, with cutting-edge facilities and more than 600 staff, all studying a variety of disease processes. It ranks #1 in Canada for research intensity, with world-leading teams in diabetes, women’s and infants’ health, cancer and systems biology, regenerative medicine, and stem cell research.

With the dedication of the many scientists who have made the LTRI their intellectual home, the Institute has become one of the top ten biomedical research facilities in the world, driving breakthroughs that have resulted in new and better ways to treat common conditions affecting.
